A place to sleep and swaddles…the swaddling blankets didn’t work for us…receiving blankets were too small/oddly shaped (if you had a rectangular one) and the aden+anais ones were way to large for our little baby. I had no idea what to do with all of the extra fabric. And while it worked in the hospital, once we got home, she was able to move her arms more and push through the blankets. So something with velcro was a must for us. And babywearing was very helpful.

I think depending on the age of the baby it can vary but a baby carrier is a handy one, some of those side snap tops for babies, a gentle and natural soap, a teething toy and rattle. a mesh feeder can be great too, specially for teething babes… oh and gripe water is amazing. :)

Swaddle blankets! We didn’t have to swaddle our first immediately, but she got to a point at which being swaddled was necessary for her sleep! Aden & Anais blankets are the best for that, too – light enough for summer use, but can be paired with other blankets for cooler months. Also, they’re a little stretchy so they can make a snug swaddle for a wiggly baby! Love them.
